How long can you wait before PnP transfer?

Hello all. New to the forum and glad to be here. Anyone here use press-n-peel for home-made PCB design? I had a quick question about it... How soon do you need to iron the toner trace onto your copper? I don't have a laser printer at home - using the one at work. Just not sure if I can print the trace on the PnP and wait a few hours before ironing it on. Is this too long to wait? Do you have to iron it on immediately after printing? Thanks.

You can wait as long as you like. The toner is fused to the paper, as it would be with regular white paper. I bet you could stick it in a drawer for years and still be able to transfer it.

Months at least. I used to print them and keep them in envelops ready to use.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

just make sure you wipe any dust or debris off the transfer before applying.
