I could but if it were that easy then we would have resistors in the layout instead of trimmers.
The FETs differ from each other and each lot ,hence the use of trimmers to compensate.
Just bias them to 4.5V -5.5V that should get you going enough to adjust to prefrence.
I'm no EE or even a tech, just a monkey with a soldering iron that can read, and follow instructions. ;D

Ok ...I am gonna try to do that though i have to measure the voltage in the leg of the fet that gets the power ( 14,2 V :( ) to 4.5V - 5.5V CORRECT ???  :icon_biggrin:

Cheers!

It is 5 in the morning here  hehehe , but i'm gonna rebuilt it all over till i get it right otherwise i dont sleep  :icon_mrgreen:

CHEERS!!!

If you for sure have 14.2V at V in.
Then you want to bias them to 7.5V or 7-8.5V should work.
If the bias is off,the FETs can go into cutoff and you wont hear anything.
I tried mine with a 12V supply and biased them to 6V,just set your bias to half/little more than half of your power supply V.

THANK YOU MAN !!! DON'T LEAVE !!! I AM MEASURING AND GIVING RESULTS IMMEDIATELLY

ok

one noob question ... i put the red lead on the drain leg of the j201 where i put the black lead of the multimeter ? Sorry for stupid question , i awake for more than 50 hours....  :-[

Circuit ground >anywhere there is ground will do even the input/output ground will work.
Good luck.

i put the black in the ground ... the first Q1 had 11 volts .. i reduced it to 8.5 V

Angelo777

Q4 was 8.5 no change needed

and Q5 is 13,69 V !!!! AAAAA how i fix this ????????

Angelo777

LOL ... i am too tired ... i'll put a pot there ....

though one question ... I read somewhere i think that when you give it 9V the Q5 should be at 4,5 V ... should i change that to 8.5 now ? well i'll do that and tell you what happened in seconds :icon_biggrin:

Brymus

Thats your problem then Q4 and Q5 have to be the same, check your wiring and look for solder bridges.

Brymus,

hahahahaha I put an extra pot in Q5 and IT SOUNDS GREAT !!!!

I LOVE YOU ALL GUYS HERE .... Brymus ... I'm gonna build you a 2000 Watt rms amp only for you :D:D:D your thee besstttt

P.s. any more ideas for making the sound more tight and more heavy ?

CHEERS!!
Angelo!!!

Glad I could help.
Get some sleep then read through the "Ultimate Dr Boogie" thread I linked too, lots of good mods and tips in the links posted there.
Tone is subjective, but to me lowering the first two bypass caps helps alot and increasing the presence cap made a big difference.

Bryan,

Thank you very much! I really appreciate!!  :)

I'll check it tomorrow.

What time is now in your country ? :)

P.S. I am reverse engineering the iSP Decimator noise reduction pedal with the help of Phil who owns it and next week we will post the schematics if we get permission from the admin... :-X

P.S. I am currently working with an invention of mine that emulates the tubes  :icon_mrgreen: It is almost done... stay tuned for the news :D

P.S. I am so happy that i am a member of this forum !!! Everyone are so cool in here :D :D

BEST REGARDS!!!

if you haven't madde this work you can use an audioprobe even without a dmm it would do!what transistors did you use?

jcgss77

This circuit is designed for J201.  I have heard of people using J102, but with much lower gain.  You are not going to get by on this circuit with anything else, without a major re-vamp of the layout.  In which case, if you can't get or won't get J201's, you need to build a circuit with different transistors.  There is a schematic here somewhere which uses 2n5484 (I think).  It is a really nice sounding design, lots of gain, based on Randall preamps.  If you can get those, or are interested, pm me and I will send you that schematic.

nope....and even e-bay has them highly priced! :-\ so any other replacement would really be apppreciated..! ;)
