Started putting together a version of the PWM tonight. I'm working on one based on Beavis Audio's:

Original: http://folkurban.com/Site/PWM-715.html
I didn't think to double check my components before transferring from my breadboard, and realized mid-build that the 4.7uF cap off of pins 1 and 8 of the 386 is way too big for my layout. Now I have a bunch of other caps that could fit, but I'm not sure if they'll work. I noticed on the original that those pins are just tied together, but on Beavis' they're taken through a resistor and the cap in question. I'm hoping I'll just be able to sub it, but I'm not sure (i.e. I have 0 electronics knowledge). I think this part helps control the gain. Are there any folks out there who might be able to reassure me that I can make this substitution (I have 2.2uFs aplenty, or maybe a 10uF?), or must I go out tomorrow and track down a 4.7uF that will fit?

Short pins 1 and 8. Omit the 100 ohm and 5uFd. They add a mild mid-high boost, but if you are in a jam this is probably a frill not worth a re-do.
