Hi,
I'm trying to source a Double Pole, 8 Throw/Position rotary switch for a Tap Tempo Tremolo pedal I'm planning. I want to make the Wave Shape control a rotary switch and have a separate LED for each of the 8 shapes that lights when the shape is selected, hence the 2 pole requirement.

Someone (think it was Taylor) on the TTT thread suggested this one-

It's a bit pricey!

Anybody know of a cheaper source? Does anyone have one knocking around they'd like to part with? Or.... Does anybody have an alternative method of obtaining the LED indicators?

Cheers,

jesus christ that isn't cheap!

Most people would just use a very clear indicator like a chicken head knob to allow the use of 1P8T. this might sound silly, but if you could sink the LEDs such that the one in use is UNDER the chicken head, you could possibly get it so that the LED is off for the waveshape in use?

I'd go with what, just use a pointy knob to show what setting you're on.

If you really want LEDS you could use an LM3914 or a couple of CD4051s as mentioned here http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=84020.msg701922#msg701922

Thanks for the quick replies guys! It seems really over the top wanting the LED's but I plan on really going to town on the pedal and making it the best I can. I keep making pedals and giving them to friends who are in bands that I know are going to make better use of them than I do as I am no longer in a band  :icon_cry: This pedal is going to stay MINE!

I'll look into the suggestions you've mentioned Slacker. It's a bit beyond my knowledge so maybe it's time to start reading and soaking up some more knowledge!

Thanks again,

Jimi
