BS170 Circuits active/passive eqs?

I have an unusual use for a pile of BS170's.  Aside from guitar projects, I need to build a set of Buffer eq's for my electronic drumkit.
The Alesis D4 has way too much high mids and thinness. I am currently tying up 4 eq channels to make it work as I need 4 individual
outputs.  Building a BS170 passive eq is not a problem and that will work for the cymbal and snare channels, however I'll need and active low boost for the kick and toms.
Any Active Mosfet EQ citcuits out there or how could I basically copy an op amp eq circuit.
I want to use Mosfets for the simplicity of signal path as I op amps seem to "Blanket" the sound a little.
I'm also thinking this would add a little tubish feel to the tone.
I'd also like to run them at 24v as I use RDL STA-1 modules to feed balanced to the PA feed.

Thanks in Advance.

BS170 Circuits I'm looking to work on,
Active EQ
Mic Preamp
Multiway switch
Mixer
Engl Mod 2/Diefet (With active bass eq)

Currently working on a modular amp construction kit. Rack mounted passive eqs (fender/marshall/engl/vox/stupidly wonderfull tone), and a bank of individual BS170 stages and a 4 ch TDM crosover(high/low cuts). This is to help research for building myself a 6 channel preamp. (Clean, Sparkly, Blue, Hard, Balls, Hurt, are the 6 channels along with my "Hot Button" OD boost switch :).
I'm just tired of arguing with my pair of GNX3000 that seem to sound different every day and the peavey rockmaster and triumph to get the sounds I hear in my head. :P

Not a big fan of digi-multi-fectros after a while.
the 3000's I'm only vaguely familiar with.

  This one ?
Triumph looks like a fine amp platform to stick and work with though, perhaps focus on the speaker[s for different responses.
Also not sure Mosfets are the answer to every issue, suggest working with the tube amp platform, trying some things with the input like dirty boosters and distortions.
GEO...Foolin' with Mosfets article, set up mosfets as needed, source follower or gain stage.
Had more usable 'tube-like' results just usin' tubes drive speakers technique, but Jfet or CMOS can be wiggled into rather tube like and endearing character.
Mosfets tended toward a clean, hard push to the waves, it seemed easier to get friendly 'bends' in waveforms from Jfet or CMOS, then there's...
  Everything else to consider.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
