best capicitor for a flatline?

Can someone please confirm I am understanding this correctly? If I want a longer attack time, I should increase the value of C5. This is a great compressor!!!

Increasing c5 will increase attack and decay. I only played around with decreasing the attack, not increasing it, so I don't know how much of an effect it would have, but it's worth a try.

Seeing as this is uses a homebrew LDR, can anyone vouch for a certain LED?
Normal or ultra-bright?
Red, Green, Yellow or some other color?
