Box Wiring Diagram - Which one should I use?

I'm getting ready to wire my first board together and I've found two different diagrams:





These diagrams appear to wired very differently and I'm not sure which one to go by.

I'm more accustomed to the second one. The LED can be wired either way (two wires coming off the DC jack, or two wires coming off the board) but the second diagram shows the more common 3PDT bypass scheme.

I don't like either of those - especially the second one. I prefer "star grounding". Download tonepad's Offboard Wiring PDF, and scroll down to page 5:

Thanks a lot.  I'll use the one from tonepad.

I like this one.  Reason being, I want the inputs and output as far away from each other as possible.  I also use the empty lug to run a ground wire to effect send lug, so it's grounded when bypassed.
