Hey everyone,

Thanks for checking in on my post. So, I've recently built an MXR Blue Box clone from Tonepad, and I had a question about it. The pedal sounds very cool and works well when you're playing in the beef of the guitars frequencies, basically anything from the low E through about the 7th or 8th fret on the G string, but when you get to that point all the frequencies above it have VERY little output. It gets worse and worse the higher you go until you really don't get any output as you head up the high e string.

So my question is A) is that typical of the Blue Box, as it's a very unique effect to begin with? and B) if it's not typical, then where should I begin the troubleshooting process?

I'm somewhat new to pedal building, but my first thought was to find some spots in the schematic where there's a bit of a treble bleed and lower the cap (or raise the resistor). Is that a good instinct? And if I put some sort of a boost in front of the pedal, the extra gain makes the pedal a little better, but not enough to be happy with. So, if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. And thanks in advance.
