OTA vs. Diode Ladder envelope filter pedal Q

  So over at synthdiy and a few other informative sites I see different type of envelope filters. Mostly OTA ( 13700 / 3080 ) based or diode based ladder filters.

I'm familiar with the ota style sound but was wondering in a guitar pedal application is there a different tonal quality to the diode ladder filter style.

Doing a layout for the ladder style in eagle now and hope to have a pcb in a couple days to proto. But just curious as to the sound.
