Does anyone have the parts list for this mod? I'm sure if I had the list, I could buy them all separately for much less.

He has the parts listed, but not the values.

You can buy the instructions alone for $10.  Pretty good value, actually.

I've used a couple of his mods and wasn't disappointed.

I performed the mod pictured in this thread last night, the SD-808 mod, http://music-electronics-forum.com/t5778/.  Now, the output was significantly decreased.  I did use 1/2 watt resistors instead of 1/4 watt resistors.  I'm not sure if that is the issue.

I would just buy the kit or instructions. His mods never disappoints just like Chi Boy says. Brian Wampler also has a book that shows you how to mod a bunch of boss pedal including the sd1. Great book to have.

Did you check to see if you installed your elctro caps in right? Not sure why your output would be low. I cant see 1/4 or 1/2 watt resisters making any difference in out put. Strange.

That's what someone else mentioned also.  Which way should it be oriented?

hi, i want to make get more distortion from my sd-1 (excuse my english)
I have tried connecting diodes in serial with the one located at D4, also leds, and replaced the original 1M gain pot for a 2M pot in order to get more distortion, but nothing happened.
Does anybody have any idea of what can i do to get more distortion? thank you very much in advance.

To a great extent, you can guess what the parts are.  The tantalums are undoubtedly intended to replace C7 and C10 (same values).  Personally, I would try to find some film 1uF caps that fit and skip the whole polarized thing altogether.  I'm not fond of tantalums, ymmv.   The 1N34 Ge diode either replaces D5 or is added to the D4 link....there's just not much in the way of choices for that.  The rest of those caps are probably same value replacements for the caps in the signal path:  C1, C2, C3, C 4, C5, C6, and C8.  What else could they be?  The 2.2K resistor has to be part of the "2x Gain Mod," so that's R6, though I can't see the point.  I'm not a TS fan, so again, ymmv.

If you have to buy from mouser, I think the shipping charges will kill most of the savings vs. his $19.95 price.  Don't know about his shipping fees.  Otoh, smallbear's shipping is very fair.
