ROG English Channel Mods?

Just wondering if anyone has any mods for the ROG English Channel? ... It's good but sometimes sounds a little too grainy. I was thinking of modifying the three FET stages with bypass caps on their source resitors to the Fetzer Revisited, Q1, Q2, and Q5. That is remove the bypass caps and drop Rs to 1k for J201's, but I'm thinking the gain will drop too much.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated,
