MXR Flanger Mod Question, Is it possible and how to do it??

I posted this on Rig Talk already but I found this a more appropriate place to ask this.  I want to get a junk wah pedal and basically take my mxr flanger and put it in the wah frame. The idea is to make the modulation potentiometer easier to adjust through a song. I know someone is gonna say just get a chopper but I like to tinker and the pedal is the current circuit board that they are using and i just removed a transistor connection to give it the vintage mod flanger tone.  It is the closest I've came to getting the effect I want. I am trying to shoot really hard for the studio tone for the song "sober" by tool where the flanger has some kind of wierd leslie effect and the modulation rate changes through the song in the quiet parts. So if anyone has ideas of where to take this by all means please contribute, I know there are plenty of lists of Adams Gear and vids but I am trying to nail the studio recording spot on.  I am a complete noob when it comes to this sort of stuff so please take pity on me and "dumb up" the response since i dont know tech terms or circuit board design at all.  Thanks.

Please:
1) what MXR flanger is your MXR flanger?
2) regen aside, each pot deals with modulation, so:
what pot are you talking about?

Again, since you "dont know tech terms or circuit board design at all"
you should be aware of electric shock 'cause many MXRs have AC cord...
"NOT FLAMMABLE" is not a challenge

Ughhh I screwed up when I posted this initially  :icon_mrgreen: what i meant to say was that i have a mxr phase 90 (block lettering, most recent circuit board) which i did the R28 mod that gets rid of the midrange boost and gave it more of the vintage sound.  Sorry for the confusion.  I'd change the subject heading in the original post but dont know how to edit it

So there is only 1 pot on the phase 90 and from what I just read it is a 500k reverse log pot.

Yeah , just rehouse the pcb into your wah pedal enclosure and remove the pot from yhe mxr phaseer and wire the pot of the wah in its place. What is the value of your wah pot, if its different to the phaser you can modify it to the correct value by adding resistors to the pot lugs to bring it to the same value.

Please at least have 1 forum post before sending me a PM demanding something.
