Hi,

I'm in the process of building a multi function looper and channel switcher.  For my looper I want to build an A or B type of looper, basically so when the switch is off it sends the signal through loop A, and when it's on it sends the signal through loop B (as opposed to off being true bypass and on sending through a loop).  Also at the same time, I want to send a short to ground signal to my mesa amp to change the channel when pushing the same switch.  All in all I'm picturing 7 jacks, guitar in, guitar out, channel out, loop a in/out and loop b in/out.   Would the best method for doing this be to use a 4pdt switch, or some kind of 3pdt + relay combo?  I'm somewhat new to electronics so that is where i'm coming from.  Also, I've seen various diagrams for wiring a 3pdt standard true bypass box, but I'm not quite positive as to how I might wire a 4pdt switch for the extra purpose of channel switching.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks,

I would suggest you look into info about how a 3PDT switch works. Knowing how any switch works will help you out really. Here's a good place to start: http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/Switches/

Also, having an understanding of how the channel switch works for your amp will help. If it's a latching mechanical type of switch you're in luck! But if it's a momentary relay based switch, you won't be able to do it and do the other thing at the same time.

HOWEVER. If you can't do both, you can put two switches together in a box close enough to step on Simultaneously! So you could do all the switching in one step, or find a way to mount a plate over top of the two switches or something to that effect.

Did you find a solution to this?

I'm looking for the same thing and a good diagram/schematic would be a great help.

Cheers.

Take a non-input-grounding true bypass setup, and instead of joining two of the lugs, copy them as another loop
