I think that's the correct name for them. I've got a schematic, and I'm trying to identify the separate parts, eg the "tone stack" and the part where the overdrive comes from.
how can I go about doing this? I'd like to play with the component values of the tone section to help my understanding of pedal building, and also to get that perfect tone for my rig.

cheers

tone sections 'usually' (but not always) come at/or near the end of a schematic circuit...far right...breadboard your circuit and mess with the values there..

have you downloaded the tsc?...tone stack calculator?....this gives an on screen graph of your chosen stack, and you can change values etc...

and visually see the differences in freqs...

there's a lot of talk regarding scaling the tone stack of it, and I'd like to see the aural implications of that recommendation.
