Honest question on supplies

Why can't you find the old style rub on transfer PCB artwork anywhere anymore? I'm well aware that the world has gone to easy software and easy photocopies and iron on transfers and photo-resist...but I don't own a laser printer. I don't want to have to fool with photo-sensitive boards and developers. Some of what I would like to do would take me five minutes and I would have it floating in etchant. But I can't seem to dream up a search that will turn up packs like you once could buy of pads, transistor pad sets, IC layout sets, tape..... just the simple stuff. I just can't seem to find it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks a million.

In my opinion, for anything that's simple enough that you could tape out a PCB in 5 minutes, I would build it on perf board.

I have no idea who sales that stuff anymore. Too bad you don't like photo-sensitive boards, it's simple and works great!

Economics; the tape method is just too labor-intensive to compete. Note that since the that '09 thread that someone else referred to was done, I have worked out some of the difficulty with the photo-positive process.

It works fine with an inkjet printer, and the materials are cheap and readily available.

There's a place in Victoria BC that still has some. It's around, you just have to look.

Folks, thanks for the replies. It has been a few days since I could take the time to get back on and look.

I have to admit, I read SmallBear's article and it does make it seem pretty easy.
