I'm using this layout to build a Rebote 2.5: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/zpyders-veb/zpyders-perf-layouts/rebote25/Rebote_2_5.gif.html. I noticed all the pins on Q1 were connected, so I double checked with tonepad's PCB and they're not connected: http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=98. Is this an error on the layout?

hi...

q1 is a voltage 7805 regulator and is connected...9v in  then ground .then 5v out.....

it doesnt look right on the perf layout...it looks like all pins are connected as you say,, which is wrong!.. it wont work as is..

seperate the connections and it may be ok..

i'd stick with the tonepad layout, (thats verified)...notice how the pins are wired...blue 5v   green ground  red 9v..

5v is for the pt2399...

as a note:if i were you i'd go for the echobase by slacker, its got a much better volume on the delay, and modulation too..and not many additional parts...brilliant pedal. :icon_wink:

all the best rob.

I think I figured out the layout. C20 to R16 is jumpered, and doesn't actually connect to anything on Q1. Likewise, pin 4 of the TL072 is jumpered to ground, but the layout makes it look like it connects to R11, C11, and R18 when it doesn't. Also, the connections between lug 3 on the level pot, lug 3 on the repeat pot, and the negative side of C21 is not shown properly. Finally, there's a connection on the Output that doesn't go anywhere, but looks like it's supposed to go to R19. Not the best layout, but otherwise it seems to fit the schematic.

I've got it mostly working, but there is a volume drop when I switch the pedal on. Otherwise, the controls all seem to work fine. My voltages are as follows:

TL072:

1: 4.06
2: 4.06
3: 4.06
4: 0.1
5: 4.02
6: 4.02
7: 4.05
8: 8.13

78L05:

Vin: 8.12
Gnd: 0.1
Vout: 4.99

PT2399:

1: 4.99
2: 2.49
3: 0.1
4: 0.1
5: jumps all over but keeps coming back to 4.99
6: 2.49
7: 100mV + (increases slowly)
8: 100mV + (increases slowly)
9 - 16: 2.49

Any ideas where the problem might be?
