Long pin PCB mount Alpha Pots

Does anyone have experience with the long pin version of the Alpha PCB mount pots?  I'm considering them for a tight-fit project, because then I could easily solder parts under the pots as well.  The only problem is I'd also like to have some PCB mounted Taiway switches, and with the long pinned pots the board would sit too far from the enclosure for those switches.

Has anyone used these before? What for?  Is anyone aware of long pin SPDT Taiway switches?

unless they're 3PDT or something massive like that, I'd make my own "legs" out of thick solid core wire for the switches and then slot that through.

I have had to re-order several times, so I know that they are getting used. One customer told me that he has an assembler bend the pins in a jig so that they get exactly the height they need. Taiway will make a variety of pin lengths and styles to order. However, if I were designing, I would use as much off-the-shelf as possible.

Could you use some type of socket for the switches to make up the difference?

I've done that with the 3PDT switches too, used 18 gauge solid wire and made "extensions".

It takes some time but allows the pots and switch to hold the board suspended inside the box eliminating double-back tape and/or hot glue fixing methods
