Flash Tremolo

Hello guys.Im new on this forum and also in diy stompboxes and amps.While I was watching 2 leds flipping inside my car,it hit me:Cant you use one of the voltage applied to one LED to switch on a transistor that allows the signal of your guitar pass to the amp?After researching on the internet,I found a more simple,single LED Flasher circuit.So i addapted it as shown in the scheme below(sorry it's made in paint so it would be not so good).I tested it myself and it sounds pretty good for my first project.I have some problems:you control the speed of the tremolo by adjusting the bias.But my pot jumps from very fast to just a little bit slower then very slow,slower than the heart's beat rate.Any indications?Btw the pot used is a B10K

yep, good idea,

the bottom design is what i think is called a ' negistor' circuit, which i messed around with myself...with 2n2222a's

but its very fussy on the transistor used...well it was for me anyway.... do you get any ticking noise with your experiment?...

I never did get that one to work on 9V. No problem at 12V, though.

is it me or there are 2leds one for bypass and one for on?

and i dont get the top and bottom circuit thing. the top is independent right?

Thanks for replies.The top circuit is the actual tremolo circuit.The bottom one is only the base LED flasher.I dont get any ticking and because of the capacitor,the signal dims,not sharply end.So I get a fading out efect.I wanna try a circuit based on the 2 LED oscilator.On the Flasher circuit,the duration of the flash was way smaller than the duration of the intrerupted circuit.So the signal is passing in short "flashes" and the duration of no sound is way bigger than the audible sound.In the led oscilator,these durations are equal because the LEDs got equal ON and OFF durations.Also I think of replacing the transistor that allows the signal pass with a photoresistor and by lighting up the LED,the resistance of the photoresistor lowers so the signal passes.

i found the led/ldr config suffer volume dipping when speed is turned up,compared to slow due to the speed reaction of the ldrs....
