i like this complete disregard of convention! (but you should start regarding it at some point, Se7en! )

i was gonna suggest a different op-amp as well, specifically the TLC2272, because afaik it's favoured in the Sansamp GT-2 for both its rail-to-rail capability and its low slew rate (speed, kinda), which contribute to a pleasing distortion. that's 100% of my knowledge of the GT-2!

maybe biasing to 2.5V or something, instead of 4.5V could be useful
