this is the schematic:

this is the layout i drew up...i don't know why, it seems a little wonky to me, did i screw it up?
the only mod i made to it is adding a resistor for an led...

thanks peeps!!!

You're missing the 8k2 resistor off the collector of Q1 and R4 is 8.2K not 8.2R, apart from that it looks good to me.
If you wanted to you could get rid of row c by connecting depth pot 1 to row e and removing the trace cut at e13. The ground row could also be moved up to row h saving another row.

yeah I have to agree that smaller is my personal preference. I would have done it on perf and made it even smaller.

thanks guys, i knew i messed something up... ::)

saving a row would be good, and thanks for the tip on hooking up the depth pot, i'm definitely seeing my mistakes now!!  :icon_redface:

Needs a jumper from the collector of Q2 to the bottom of R7, other than that I think it's good to go.

You could still save a row by moving the ground row up to row g, and tweaking a couple of other things could make it a column or two narrower. It's probably not worth bothering though as it's small enough as it is.
I might have a go at building it, looks like it should sound pretty evil, thanks for sharing it.

OH man, this looks cool!

I think the volume pot should be Audio-taper, as per the schematic.

I dont have any bc108 but I do have some fs3699 that are too low gain for the triangle muff. they are all between 100 - 200 hfe. silicon bc108 is about 120hfe in one example. so i figure I'll just select a pair thats like 120hfe each. that should work right?

i've got this on the breadboard right now, but i'm not digging it at all...it's nowhere near as fuzzy as i expected!!!

the bc108's i'm using are a hfe of 173, 230 and 224, but they just ain't really distorting...more of a clean boost than the rude ass fuzz i expected!!

gonna play with the circuit some...i had to sub a couple caps, one of the 50mf is now 100, the other is 68mf...and i'm using 22's in place of 25's, but that really shouldn't matter at all i wouldn't think!!!

also subbing some resistors, but all within 10% or so....kinda weird. nice sounding boost, but not the fuzzy monster, even after adding an in34a diode clipper at the end.

think i may scrap this one and just build a umi buzzbox instead...working on an npn version of that venerable circuit.

this is what i wanna build, i converted it to npn silicon. goin' on the breadboard next...

here's the layout i came up with for it...it may have mistakes, so beware!!

i owned one of these way back when , was one of my first fx boxes i remember...very rude, harsh buzzy tone, great with humbuckers into overdriven tubes..
had a little battery meter on the front and everything...too cool!!

if someone could peep at the vero layout for me, i'd be grateful...lately i keep messing them up!! :icon_redface:
