Ok my main problem when ordering caps is i have no idea what the difference between them is.
I understand BP/NP is different, but are the others different?

How can you tell what ones you need to use?

I see those red ones and white ones in my pic used alot on projects. But when do you know what one to use? and where.

2 builds im interested in doing are TS-808 and DR Boogie.

The BLUE, WHITE, and BROWN caps "essentially" can all be substituted. It is a matter of personal preference as to which type you would use. I have heard that the "order" of goodness as far as sound quality goes is

1) Poly Box (WHITE)
2) MYLAR film (BROWN)
2) Ceramic bead (BLUE)

The yellow/brown CERAMIC caps are usually only used in the picofarad (pF) range. When I use a pF value cap in ALL of my circuits, I only use ceramic like these.

Finally, the Tant beads (Tantalum) are polarized caps... just like Aluminum Electrolytic. Some people prefer Tants to the Aluminum Electros because they are smaller and they have been proven to be "less leaky"

In the end, it all comes down to personal taste and pricing.
