and see SKU 1909 on the Stock List.

Something to be aware of if you need to repair a rack unit or are re-housing a compact.

Many thanks to Marcus Young for doing the work and testing a few of my parts.

And, should you be so lucky as to have a pair of MN3005s for some bizarre and divinely-influenced reason, you can stick them in, instead of the MN3008s, and have a retrofit that will yield double the delay time in a device that formerly maxed out at 330ms.

Any idea when the wrong chips started shipping? [Gotta love wordplay.]

I think by "fake" he means using MN3008s (which ARE still available as NOS) to "fake" having an MN3005 (which is pretty much extinct and has double the capacity of a 3008).

They're not the "wrong" chips.  They're simply what we/he can still get.

I did get it, I am just asking because I have one of his 3005s and I would like to know if it's a 3008.

I have not shipped anything marked MN3005 in a couple of years. The 4K chip will give a distinct slapback echo; the 2K is more of a "spacey-ness." Sned it to me if you want and I'll test it. If it's 2K, I'll send you an additional 2K.

I have finished drawing my perfboard layout and now have to verify it with a build. SHould have that ready to post next week.

Well, I had actually ordered a 3205 for modding a Two-Timer and the 3005 came by accident. You sent me the 3205 free of charge and since then (it's been a couple years indeed) I have it locked in its tiny drawer, just waiting for its moment to shine. This thread made me thought this might be it; I should give it a try.

I see. What you might do is troll E-Bay for a dead Memory Man, DM-2 or any of many others that used the 3005. A good BBD is often all that those need to come back to life.

Or a dead Yamaha E1010 which had 4 MN 3005.
