I made a TS808 on vero today. But when i engage it i just get ground humming.
Have checked my solders and cuts and all looks ok. The only thing i changed was a 220nf cap to 47u (all i had). Could that be the problem?

Also when engaged if i turn any of the controls i can hear the hum either change (tone) or cut off with the gain and volume.

I forgot to mention...

with the Electo caps the vero didnt say what way to orient them.

the little grey area on the bottom of those electrolytics means - (negative) .   ;)

with vero there can be the tiniest piece of uncut copper where you cut......go over with a magnifier...or there may be a burr from where you cut

touching another line... :icon_cool:

220nf for a 47uf electro?....sounds the likely culprit to me... ;)

You got it the wrong way rounf. 47uf for a 220nf.

Im sure my cuts are all fine. Will look again. But i always inspect them with a light so i can see them properly.

did i?...... ::)

ok..yeah those vero cuts can look ok, till you get real close!..

I have ordered a pcb from www.guitarpcb.com. Will see how that goes. I also got a Boogie 57 and some 3pdt boards also.
