I have made 2 different buffers

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2011/04/klon-buffer.html

http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?2511956-Schematic-for-a-small-buffer-pedal

they both are very noise.

the klon makes a low pitch squeak

the other one i have made 3x trying to get better sound out of but it's giving me a volume drop with static mixed in

I cant seem to get one of them to work any ideas i have done much more complex builds with no problem but these buffers are kicking my butt.

pictures would help...

also is this bread board you are building these on.. Op amp buffers should be quiet but I don't read layout well, need a schematic, and which op amp are you using ? I am assuming both of these are based off one of these op amp buffers

It's not the buffer design.  That's for sure.

The second one should maybe have a trace cut between pins 4 and 5, I think it would work without it though. Are you sure you have the electrolytic caps the right way round, the negative end is at the top in all cases, that's about the only thing I can think of that would stop them working properly.

Maybe you didn't apply enough mojo to the Klon buffer and that's why it's not working, try adding more :)

ok, I know its not the buffer design... It something i'm doing... ;( the design that using is (http://www.muzique.com/images/buff8.gif) if i put a cut between 4 and 5 i get a squeaking. and i c1 shouldn't be directional... c2 the nagetive is on the top(going to the output)

I just rebuilt it on Vero and still lots of static

if i turn the power off it sound come through fine... the IC could be bad... thats all i can think of
