Uglyface - Bass Mods?

So, I finally got around to building the uglyface, and I have decided I like it even more on bass than guitar.

However it is a little lacking in the low frequencies. I was wondering whether upping the I/O caps would be the way to go?

or if the blend mod here would be more use?

The I/O caps are probably fine. I found the oscillator wasn't low enough for me, so I used a 0.22uF instead of 0.1 for the cap at pin 2/6 of the 7555 - nice and low now, but still supersonic at the other end of the pot. Blend would certainly be useful for bass too.

I was also looking at this:

and thinking about throwing an LPF on the clean signal after the send. being able to mix the filtered clean signal back in, to give back some "girth" is probably what I am after...
Will play around with this in the next few days...
