hey guys, i built a fuzz factory clone a while back using the schematic below.
It works fine and was working fine until i changed the imput jack. the old one was playing up a bit so i put a new one in. now when i turn or even touch the volume pot on my guitar, it gives a lot of feedback static. its definately not the guitar, its fine in any other situation. it doesnt happen on bypass when the pedal power (master on/off switch) is off. but when the power is on, and the pedal is still on bypass it gives the static.

i have checked all the connections and they are all good.

used this schem - http://solgrind.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/zvex-fuzzfactory-rev1-1.gif

i used the bypass wire diagram in this pic.

if anyone has any ideas of what i can try to diagnose the cause, plz let me know :D thanks.

Recommendations:

1) Run the LED power wire DIRECTLY to the DC jack.  One power feed to the LED.... and another to the Stab pot.

2) Run the DC jack ground to the Input jack Sleeve.... not the Ring. The only connection to the Input jack ring SHOULD BE the 9V battery ground.
3) CHECK YOUR GROUNDING. MAke sure ALL of your grounds are connected and there are NO GROUND LOOPS.

Good Luck  ;D

sorry im a bit new at this, whats a ground loop?
also i forgot to say, im not using a dc jack  :icon_redface: so the wireing is the same, minus the jack
