Morley Wah / TS issue.

Good Morning All,

I spoke to a friend on the phone last night, and his Son is having problems with a Morley Wah.

The set-up is as follows... Guitar (335) ->Tuner->Morley Way->TS9 (stock)->tremolo->amp (Peavey Clasic 30).

Occasionally, there have been times when the Morley does not pass signal through, usually at gigs (unfortunately).

All pedals are being powered by a known-good DC Brick.

The setup *always* works through a Blackstar HT1, but only sometimes through the Peavey Classic 30.
With the Morley taken out of the chain, everything works perfectly.

Other than intermittent connections within the Morley, could there be anything else going awry here?
My initial suspicions were with buffering / impedance mismatch between the Morley and TS (don't understand how there could be, since they're both industry standard pieces...).

I've not had chance to pick the Wah up to look at yet.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Cheers,

Ian.

I have a Morley wah myself, and it acts weird, frequently. I love it - it's indestructible, and has a broad sweep. However, I find it can be painfully harsh, it can get farty in ways that make me think it's a buffer issue, and it can be a little white-noisy wen you're not playing. I would love to know of some mods that can be done to tame the beast.

One thing to check with Morley wahs is , depending on the model, the light interrupter tab will come loose. I tightened my friend's and it works like new. He had the same problem, describing it as "sometimes I wah down and it just stays that way", but maybe not... in his case he had an additional problem where he would sometimes turn on the volume part and it wouldn't have any sound (the optical interrupter tab was getting %^&*ed to one side or the other, his had dual opto's, one for the volume section, and one for the wah section).
Give a man Fuzz, and he'll jam for a day... teach a man how to make a Fuzz and he'll never jam again!

Gotcha.  I'll see if I can borrow it to peek inside.  I think it's been 'retired' from the live rig anyway...

Thanks for the advice.   :icon_cool:

as david said depending on the model,  but you can bend the led a little...gently, to change the maximum hi - low of it...i did on mine..much better less hiss etc... ;)
