i live in Guatemala, so its practically impossible to get parts here, and shipping is very expensive. so i wanted to experiment, and since the only thing readily available here was components, i ordered the basic parts from small bear, bought a breadboard, and built a proto-jig :D

here it is! :D

That looks great. Much cooler than my test jig, that's for sure!

Now, you should build five or six just like it, breadboard up a whole pedalboard like that. You'll be thought of as a mad scientist in NO time! :)

I think you'll be able to straighten them ckts out now!!!

I thought an effects jig was the dance you do when the thing works the first time you fire it up!

Nifty! I should rig something like that. I have the breadboard, but I usually just plow right in with a piece of perf and socket things I might want to change. I tried breadboarding an LPB circuit and couldn't get it to work, so my breadboard chops need work.

ok.. i have only built ONE box ... so my question is.. what's that white board thingie called and where could i get it from?

Take a look at the end of my stock list under "Tools", and there's a link to a pic of a Solderless Breadboard. It consists of two of those plastic strips, into which you can insert component leads. The vertical rows of five holes are electrically connected internally by spring fingers. The metal base of the breadboard that I offer gives some protection from noise and includes binding posts for connecting a power supply.

If you prefer, Radio Shack sells the naked plastic strips.

BTW to Señor Guatamalteco: Nice Job!

yeah, the board steve offers looks niftyer, i just got this one at the local radio shack for like a dollar, on the "leftover" bin. i just proto-ed a fulltone fat boost on it, its "phat" :D , and so easy to put together.

*edit* these are also very useful to have around with the breadboard, jumper wires. their lenght is isolated, and their color coded depending to size.  oh the ease! ;)
