What's a good enclosure for a footcontroller type device? Something in the 10"x6" range...

Would Hammond 1444 series work? (would they endure stomping without flexing?)

I want to do something like a true bypass strip, but with 2 rows of switches and some additional circuitry.

No, the 1444 ones are too thin; the 10" x 6" one is 0.040" thick.  I used one for an enclosure for some work stuff (which was one of the larger enclosures which are 0.051" thick) and would not recommend it for any sort of heavy duty use - including stomping.  I'm not even sure I'd go with the steel versions of those enclosures (20 gauge, which is about 0.036 thick) at that size for stomping.
