Hi,

I've built a fuzz face and a tonebender circuit, and when I hook the circuit boards up to my breadboard and plug in, everything is fine.  But I am doing something wrong with the wiring once I put it in the enclosure.  I am following the Beavis Audio website stompbox wiring diagram: when the effect is turned off, the bypass signal works fine, but as soon as I hit the stompswitch, it goes silent.  Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

are you using a battery to power the box? or a DC adapter? Double and triple check for shorts in the switch-wiring, you can never re-check your connections too many times

I had a similar prob on a bender, on a tight box the plug jack lug was swinging around when tightened and hitting the p/s diode at the board, made for a real quiet pedal. 2Check everything

give us a link to the Beavis wiring you are using and let us know if your circuit is npn or pnp.  if the circuit works before boxing, then someone here would probably spot your error if you posted a clear closeup pic of your wiring

Sure...here's the link:

Both of my circuits are PNP and I am almost certain that I've made the correct adjustments (e.g., I switched the direction of the LED leads, etc. -- the LED lights up as it should, by the way, when the effect is engaged).  And as I mentioned, the true bypass signal is totally fine, it just goes silent when the stompswitch is turned on.
