quick vero layout check, if you would

i had never really worked off of my own layout...and i think it looks right, but it isn't working. i thought maybe i had the transistors backwards, but the emitter (pin with the tab, correct?) of Q1 is going to ground, just as it is on the schem. i'm getting awful readings from the transistors, but before i go thru all of the troubleshooting i just want to know if someone sees a mistake in the layout.

Hi, a starting point would be the 20uF (-ve end) going to Q1 on the vero, it should only go to Gain 2, I think

oops, my mistake sorry!! the +ve end shouldnt be going to Q1

..and possibly a cut in track between the jumper from R2 and the middle leg of the trimpot, but i may be talking rubbish here.

but dont both the positive end of the cap and the emitter of q1 go to ground? they're both connected on the ground plane.

it looks ok to me...

where is the +9v going?...it should be your ground as its a  positive ground fuzz.

transistors the right way?....did you socket them?....

hmmm...yeah +9v is going to ground and transistors are correctly oriented. damn. i won't have a real chance to sort thru this until tomorrow. good to know that at least the layout is correct. and no...i didn't socket them...which is a total bummer now that i'm probably going to have to get them out of there.

so i know that everyone was holding their breath on this one...and i finally got it to work! hahah..turns out the DC jack was bad. first time i've ever come across that problem. goes to show you even the simplest of things can ruin your day.
