Valvecaster Problems help!

So I have been pulling my hair out building the matsumin valvecaster pedal.
I have checked my wiring to the schematic/wiring diagram countless times.
Checked my solder points... and
I was wondering why my grounded pins of the 12ax7 socket were reading voltage.
( I am fairly new to building pedals I have only accomplished a working bazz fuss
and the matsumin valvecaster seemed like a good beginner project.
and at pin 2 there was no voltage reading, and at pins 4 and 8 which are grounded do
have a significant voltage reading.

My readings are essentially the opposite of a working valvecaster.

Which layout did you use as pin 5 should have voltage not pin 2.

Also what kind of power adapter are you using?

Look for the negative polarity symbol as thats what the regular boss style adapters are:
