Arduino punk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELP!

hi i just built an arduino punk and dont know why its not working at all
i have trouble shot everything
i also noticed on the diagram

it might be that the volume pot should connect with the 5v and number 11 on the arduino or it may be correct as shown in the diagram
has anyone else run into any problems with this as well
is there a typically mistake thant people make
also i dont have a screen hooked up so mabey that could be a reason
i dont know how to hook the sceen up with the unit its not in the diagram
im stuck

Got any decent photos of your build?  It's hard to say without being able to see what you've put together, though I cannot think of much beyond shorting out 5V+ground that would stop it working at all.
