Hi,

I'm currently building a fuzz factory type fuzz pedal using this PCB and following this diagram:

http://diy.musikding.de/images/stories/factory/factorywire.pdf
http://diy.musikding.de/images/stories/factory/factoryschalt.pdf

However, the wiring layout doesn;'t picture the transistors in parts Q1,Q2 and Q3.. and I'm not surewhich leg goes to which terminal. I have a 3 pin socketin each of the Q1, Q2 and Q3 positions as pictured.. But just don't know how to tell which leg goes where for each transistor? I'm not great at reading the schematic so unsure of the positions.

Can someone help me out?

Also, The footswitch has the 3x3 grid layout of terminals.. Does it matter which way round the switch goes? The wiring layout tells you were each component goes but I'm not sure if the switch needs to be a certain way round or not?

Thanks!

Q1 has a cut out of the circle on the PCB in the second PDF - that probably matches up with the transistor orientation.
I made the transistor angry.

Use a DMM in the continuity mode and clip ( use 'gator clips ) on to what you think is the center and a top or bottom pin , if it doesn't work that way when you hit and you hit again , turn the switch 45 degrees and test the top and center again . Remember to mark your switch .

Hi there,

Thanks for the help guys but still a bit confused!
I see what you mean about the little "Nub" on the picture of the circuit board and two of them do indeed match upto the Germanium transistors I have. but I'm still really confused about it!

The picture on the wiring layout pictures three seperate 3 pin sockets soldered into the Q1-3 positions and the thre legs of the transistors go in them right?

How would I determine the base, emitter and collector legs of the transistirs? And on the schematic.. how do I determine which goes where on the circuit board?

Cheers!
