Input signal/"power in"?

Hi,

Trying to create my first Fuzz layout, and right now the signal input and "the 9v in" is located really close to each other.
Will this create noise?

In general, are there any components (transistors/resistors/signal caps/filtering caps) that need to be separated from each other as much as possible in order to have a quiet pedal?

It won't be quiet, it's a fuzz :o)    But seriously....well, IMO you should be fine since the 9V coming in is DC.     If it's poorly filtered, you COULD couple some noise in....if it were a chorus, trem etc., I might worry, but I think you will be OK.  Best way to know could be to test it on a breadboard and run the power wire right next to the input as it will be in real life....I've never had issues due to this sort of thing, but some have.    Then again, I have NO quiet distortions, anyway....I turn them on about 1 second before I start playing, if you know what i mean.    They'll amplify ANY noise, hiss, thermal stuff etc., so are expected to be a bit hissy.

In general, you try to keep signal paths away from power paths, as you are concerned about - it's a good practice.
You try to keep the lowest level signal away from power/filtering - the lowest signal level is your input ;o)

You can use a shielded wire for inputs to try to keep noise down.   It's very subjective - there ARE places that is VERY important, such as when working on tube amps/preamps, so it's good practice to learn routing early on.

So there's an answer for you.....you're probably ok, and you're doing a poor practice by running signal & power close together!  ;o)   Your call.

Thanks, I'll try redesigning my layout!

Might be best. I bet it wouldn't bug you much, but hey - you never know, and then your work would be for nothing!!   Good design practice, too! Good luck.
