Ok I am totally hooked with pedal building I cant stop. I am constantly wanting to make something new. My next 2 pedals Im wanting to get are a Compressor and a Octave Fuzz. In the Compressor Im wanting a nice one that I can get some nice country sounds through. And the Octave Im wanting something funky and versatile. I would like to get a nice Hendrix sound out of it. For the compressor I was looking at the Keeley Compressor and for the octave fuzz I was looking at the fulltone ultimate octave/foxx tone machine. I would love any suggestions and recommendations you guys have.

FTM is good strong octave effect and the fretboard coverage [where it actually octaves] is wide..er than most octaves, a good build or buy a French Toast...
Compression varies a good bit, Dynacomp is still quite popular, and can do 'hard compression'. There are simpler compressors...Orange Squeezer or something with photoresistors in it, each has it's forte', the OS is excellent for 'subtle' [mods make it more pronounced] the LDR type comps only compress as fast as the LDR swings the resistance which controls the gain...
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I second pete's recommendations, but note the following.

For octave fuzz, it would depend on "which Hendrix" you want, though.  If you want One Rainy Wish, then you want an Octavia, which is better at producing more timid octave.  If you want Purple Haze, then you want a Tone Machine (or French Toast), which has the more robust octave for pedal-to-the-metal solos.

Compression for "country" purposes also requries some qualifications.  For fast picking, you'll want something with a very fast recovery time; the sort of compression that gets in and out quickly to simply limit the peaks of individually picked notes.  Stock, the OS is better at that than any of the stock Dynacomp derivatives.  But they can pretty much all be modded to do the same thing.

I think I might do the FTM with some mods to be like the UO. But for the country like sounds...Im wanting something to get sounds like Brad Paisly.
