technically not a diy box but i can't find anyplace else to post. it is, afterall, a diy mod of sorts

i have a 70s lpb 2. haven't used it in years. i just looked at it and see that i had installed an led and a dpdt. unfortunately, the black wire from the battery is disconnected and i have no idea where to connect it. any ideas on how to fix it and maybe even add a true bypass? em, i can solder fine but never learned how to read a schematic so go easy.

i found this http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/switch_lo_3pdt_tb_dcjack.gif which seems exactly what i'd like to do except that the insides of an old lpb is just a mess.

thanks

Did it turn on when you plug it in and off when you unplug it? if so, look at your input jack and connect it to the solder tab that no longer has a wire attached. If it has an on-off switch, look there (the switch).

Also, if the power swicth(if it has one) is hooked up to the red on the battery, then try just connecting to the ground on you input or output.

That diagram is for hooking up true bypass with a switching power jack for ibanez/boss style power jacks. Not what you really asked about. I'll dig one up for you...

thanks so much. i'll try this tomorrow.

ok, meanderthal...i'm stuck.

i started to follow the diagram as shown. some of it seemed wired differently than the original wiring but i went for it

i have the input and output jacks wired as close to the drawing as i can discern (the web of wires and components in the middle is pretty confusing

started attaching the switch but

1] where does the + battery terminal go? if i just send it ti the led as shown then how does it also get to the circuit? and so...

2] ...where does the resistor end of the led go?

3] what goes to the top lug on the on off switch that used to have the - battery terminal wire?

4] i assume the input to the circuit (bottom center on switch) is the center terminal of the pot?

5] which is the "output" that gets attached to the switch bottom right?

i can send a photo if you want

The links at the top of the page explain the schematic symbols and how the components in it make a circuit work.
