Anyone have some advice on the least transparent, craziest, weirdest, most compressing compressor circuits (or mods)? I'm looking for something that will squeeze my input to the point of turning it into a diamond - a lo-fi, noisy, weird diamond. Thanks for your time.

try experimenting with the tda7052a elektor did a article called:   No-CA3080 Guitar Compressor   the tda7052a and it must have an a at the end is the part that controls the dc volume control you can then construct a really good compressor from that. Do a google search for the pdf on it.
