I'm trying to build a fuzz factory that can both utilize a 9V battery as well as a 9V DC adapter. I know I could connect the leads of either to the circuit, and it would be fine as long as both power sources weren't being utilized. My question is whether or not there is a way to bypass the battery when using the DC adapter so the circuit won't fry itself, and how might i go about doing this. Thanks?

There is a battery connect/disconnect switch in most DC power adapter jacks to do just this.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

The Beavis Audio site is worth reading thoroughly; I suggest browsing through the 'tech' page at least once. Great graphics and lots of info.
For a quick visual reference for your standard 9v jack, there's this pic from a different forum, thanks to Mad Bean Pedals, another site full of pedal pertinent info.
