Working on this project:

/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12112&hilit=robot&start=40

and having no luck.  at first i thought there was a jumper under ic2 connecting pins 1 to 8, but decided that wasn't so, and got signal thru that IC.  now i can trace signal to the holteck chip, and no further.

also, they 2 zener diodes and electrolytic caps are getting REALLY hot REALLY fast.  I have triple checked their orientation with the schematic, and im pretty sure they are correct.

i have a feeling that they should not be getting to hot to the touch tho.

Give a man Fuzz, and he'll jam for a day... teach a man how to make a Fuzz and he'll never jam again!

@#$%^  i just burnt the hell out of my finger trying to get the tips of my multimeter to stay on d2.  is it being backwards causing it to get hot?

after some googleing, i found that if i shorted the diode earlier it would be conducting equally in either direction.  would this fault cause heat.  i cant plug this thing in anymore, cause i dont want it to pop in my face while im working on it.

ill fire up the desoldering iron tomorrow, its been a looooong day.  i have already worked 60 hours this week, and still have to work fri/sat
