whammy 4 destruction imminent, advice sought!!

before i destroy this thing...

i gotta cheap digitech whammy 4 at a pawn shop...

getting ready to true bypass it, and add an external jack so i can make an external footswitch to click thru the  presets as seen in these three threads...

i watched the molten midi demos with the blend pot, and it got me thinking...


why can't i take the dry output of the whammy to one side of a dual gang 100k pot,  and take the wet whammy out to the other side, and take the wiper from this to the original output hot jack?

seems to me, i should be able to blend the two signals with a simple pot, right?  or do you think i'll need a mixer? seems to me i shouldn't, as the two outputs should be able to go to two amps or two channels with no problem, right?

then there's one less hole i gotta make, as i can run the original "dry out"  to the external pedal i'm building, and a tb with a simple 3pdt should be totally simple, right?


or am i missing something? i'm willing to take a chance, and will check in before i start when i get back from the parts store.

am i crazy? should i just leave well enough alone?

sure seems doable to me...so any advice, pro or con, is sought...thanks peeps!!
