Using metal film resistors with carbon film resistors on the same circuit?

Probably a stupid question but I can't help being curious about this...I had already bought a few carbon film resistors from Radioshack for my Green Ringer project when I learned that there are metal film resistors as well...Is using both types of resistors on the same circuit board going to cause any problems?

There are differences but for the purposes of stomp boxes the only thing that matters is the actual resistance in ohms
