Hey Guys,

My buddy finally got a hold of an SAD1024. I popped it in, and it seems to work (clocks and outputs check out ok on the scope), only I'm not getting any auto sweeping action. Manual controls work, just no auto sweeping.

I ended up just socketing all of the ICs and replacing the 4558s with NE5532s. I've triple-checked continuity on all of the sockets (top and bottom) as well as traces going to pots and other crucials.  I replaced the two 15uf tantalums in line with the rate pot. New 4013be logic chip. Swapped out the larger value electrolytics as well. I'm sure the issue has to do with the IC that controls the rate, I just can't seem to narrow it down on the board. I'm going to replace the remaining tantalums tonight (because they should be regardless) and see what happens.

FIXED!!! Bad tantalum cap. No surprise. I've probably repaired well over 50 10+ year old boards that use tantalums, and I've encountered at least 10 failed tantalum caps in my experience.
