So, if I'd like to affix the tone stack on my Big Muff to one position, should I just measure the value on each end of the wiper of the tone pot and replace it with resistors?
These days, I only use my muff with it in the 100% bassy position, counterclockwise.  Is there perchance a way to get this sort of tonal response without a dozen resistors and capacitors (and , hopefully, the last gain stage?

Tone stack calculator?!?!?

If you like it in the far CCW position, just put a 100K resistor between where lugs 1 and 3 of the pot should be, and take the feed to the recovery stage from the bottom of the 100K (that would have been lug 1)

Looking at the schematic, I figured that out after posting.  Duh!

Good to see you here, Mark.  Love the *ahem* OTHER site...

Cheers Tony.  I think I've been a member here longer than any other forum actually, it's just I'm more of a reader than a writer in most places :D

If the bassy side is what you like I would just replace the entire tonestack with something like the Stupidly simple tone control from Mark Hammer as seen on the muzique site: http://www.muzique.com/lab/swtc.htm

Noted, and I'd love to simplify it with just a cap to ground and eliminate the last gain stage.  What sounds best is that last little turn of the pot where it gets supersaturated and some high end starts to creep back around the mud.
