Hi everyone!

I recently built 2 AMZ GE PNP buffers with a couple of subs.

http://www.muzique.com/tech/ge_buff.htm

I used 100k instead of 10k for r4, and i used a 2n3906 instead of a GE for the transistor.

(i used the 100k instead of 10k for R4 because i found the buffer didnt work porperly without it.  The sound was MUCH WORSE (muffled) on then off!) PRR Suggested this modification in another thread and it did fix this problem.

I built two of these.  For some reason, when i turn the volume up and down on my guitar, i get 'crackle' sounding very much like the SHO.  Is that the normal behaviour of a buffer?  2nd thing is that as i said i built two, one of them crackles MUCH LOUDER then the other.  I tried changing their position, tested solo, etc, one is ALWAYS louder then the other.  The only difference between the two is that i used a 1.5k CLR with a diffused red LED for one and a 1.5k CLR (same) and WATERCLEAR red LED for the other.  Could the waterclear LED be causing extra crackle!??  Or the HFE of transistor prehaps..?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
