KREATOR : nice squashed phaser sound?

i don't usually ask such things, but i love this sound at the beginning,  (good album by the way bit more melodic than usual for kreator imo)..

to me it sounds like a squashed  phaser sound to me...i really like it,

ive got a phaze 45 but that ain't gonna cut it    ........

any ideas on a circuit for this?.....

Sounds almost like a half-%^&*ed wah pedal to me. I'm afraid I can't contribute more, apart from commending your muscial taste.  

Edit: isn't a wah pedal turned halfway up called like a male hen?

did you try phaser before distortion?

This is what I got using just distortion into a KMD Phaser. Depth and Resonance turned all the way down, then just a bump back up.
ChipDrive into DS-1 to phaser to Live Wire PDI to Eurorack to computer.

And since I could just switch it in the chain, a project I'm working on ran through the phaser at the same settings, so you can hear what the harmonics are doing. I forgot to switch off the DS-1 before I ran through it the first time, so the first run is synth through DS-1, second is just the synth. I think I know a module I'm making for this thing... the DS-1 is modded for bass, so was hard to get a good guitar sound out of, but deep synth on the other hand... and this phaser handles it very well.
