i recently obtained a few crybaby pcb's ( sorry for the lame thread title ) and i was thinking of trying a bunch of mods since all of the work is already done for me .

first off i breadboarded a 2 transistor led blinker and rolled up a vactrol , pretty good results for such little effort . i am getting a little tick on the attack . interesting thing is , if i move an led about 3 inches away from the ldr the tick disapears .

more monkey time is in order , i may try lowering the brightness or something really low tech , like some sharpie on the lens ...

the other idea was crybaby 2 auto wah mod , for bass .

is there a really simple vero / circuit around for this ? (envelope filter or simply audio signal to led blinker )

i looked around for a while and it seemed like this may be more dificult than i had imagined ( buffer , split signal to audio controled led driver ) .

has anyone pulled this off gracefully or am I actually old enough to know better ?

i do have some lil automotive 12 volt modules with mics on em that put out higher voltage and a while back i did mod one for line in somehow , but ... hah .
im learning , we'll thats what i keep telling myself

If you don't want to use an LED/LDR arrangement, then maybe Tim Escobedo's "Phuncgnosis" would be a way to go. Vero layout here;

I'm not sure if you would have to adjust some capacitor(s) values to work with the bass range though.

I've heard great things on the Meatball clone as well, the Meat Sphere. I've got 2 PCB's that I bought from Taylor's online store, but I'm a long way off from building them. A lot of folks say that it hits it out of the park. If it's anywhere close to the original Meatball, I'd say yeozzaa!!
