surplus electronics places in LA?

Is there a place in LA open to the public where I can sort through stockpiles of surplus odds and ends (transistors, diodes, IC's etc)?

A DIY'ers wet dream.
Although they have become a bit more restrictive on where inside the store you can wander.
Its still a GREAT place to shop.
I've been going there for years.
