Hello all! I'm new to this forum, but I've learned quite a lot as a lurker. I've successfully built quite a few pedals and circuits, but I want to delve more into the world of design. I've been trying to learn how to break down circuits by sections, but I just don't quite understand this yet. I understand that there are different sections to serve different purposes, such as a power section, but beyond that it all melds together.

I know that this is a fairly general question but any insight is greatly appreciated. I've searched the site and the web and haven't quite found anything on the nose.

Cheers everyone, I'm really enjoying this forum!

woah! there kid! this stuff takes some time. digest what you have learnt from your previously posted questions and the answers you recieved. then think some. then ask more. there is no magic fountain. take your time. take it easy. enjoy yourself.

Look at the main components of the circuit (transistors, etc) and check out their data sheets.. see if you can see some similarities between sample circuits and how it is being used in an effect.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Circular logic is best, because it's circular.
