12v Power Supply

I need help, Im wanting to make a 12v power supply that has around 10v or more. Im not sure how to build one so if anyone could help me with a make one I would be greatly appreciated.

they have a power supply project that is variable from 7-12v dc

LM317 Adjustable Regulator

Use a trimmer on the board for the adjustment pot (R2).  Omit the transformer and rectifier if you already have a DC power supply that is at least a couple of volts above your desired output voltage. 

This is pretty much straight from the LM317 data sheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/slvs044u/slvs044u.pdf)
